Milwaukee Brewers' Sal Frelick Does Something That's Only Happened Four Times in Team Existence

The Milwaukee Brewers blew out the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday by a score of 14-1. The win moved Milwaukee to 59-51 on the season and put them at 0.5 games ahead of the Cincinnati Reds for first place in the National League Central.

Adrian Houser got the win on the mound, tossing six innings of one-run ball. At the plate, the win was fueled by Brewers rookie Sal Frelick who went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and five RBI.

The performance earned him a rare spot in Brewers team history.

Sal Frelick is the 2nd Brewers player this season to have a 5-RBI game within his first 12 career games, joining Blake Perkins. 

Prior to that, it had happened twice in Brewers history: 

1997 Brian Banks 

1978 Paul Molitor

Frelick is the Brewers No. 2 prospect and the No. 17 overall prospect in all of baseball and is making a real impact on the Brewers playoff push.

The former Boston College Eagles standout is hitting .273 since his promotion. He's got two home runs and nine RBI and is sporting an OPS of .950.

The Brewers will take on the Pirates again on Friday night at American Family Field. First pitch is set for 8:10 p.m. ET as Pirates rookie Quinn Priester pitches against Brewers righty Colin Rea.

Priester is 2-1 with a 9.19 ERA since being promoted to the big leagues while Rea is 5-4 with a 4.76 ERA for the Brewers.
