Eagles sign 2024 sixth-round pick Dylan McMahon to rookie contract
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Eagles ' sixth-round pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, Dylan McMahon, officially signed his rookie contract on Wednesday.

McMahon inked a four-year rookie deal worth $4.2 million, per Spotrac.

The Eagles continued to add depth to their offensive line with their final pick of the draft in McMahon. He started at guard and center for the Wolfpack, so he was one of many versatile guys that Philly selected this year. He is extremely athletic for a big guy on the line and was an overall good pick to wrap up this year's draft class after losing Jason Kelce to retirement.

He's Undersized, Just like Kelce

It's no secret that it's going to be hard to replace someone like Kelce, but McMahon has similar traits.

Jason Kelce was quick to notice that when the two first met.

"Undersized center?” Kelce said as soon as Eagles general manager Howie Roseman introduced him to McMahon during the week of rookie minicamp.

Kelce (6-3, 266 lbs), also a former sixth-round pick back in 2011, knows a thing or two about being doubted as he was once in the same shoes as the 6-foot-3, 299-pound offensive lineman from NC State.

"We have that in common,” McMahon said. “And just talked a little bit about football and the guys I’ll be facing regularly in our division. He said just make sure you’re staying in the weight room. You can put good weight on you with your frame and your body. There’s places to put good weight on, weight and muscle. He wished me good luck. Like I said it was pretty surreal meeting him. He said he hopes to be able to help me out in any ways he can, so that will be pretty cool.”

Kelce even went as far as to give McMahon his phone number for any questions or help he may need heading into training camp. McMahon plans to use the number, though, sparingly.

“I don’t wanna bug him,” he said. “I’d do it every day if I could but he’s got his own stuff going around. Luckily, he gave me his number so if I ever have a question or anything I might just hit him up. If he doesn’t reply, because I know he has a lot of stuff going on, but hopefully he will eventually. But as much as I can without bugging him for sure.”

It's not going to be an easy offseason for McMahon since the Eagles already have a solidified offensive line and Cam Jurgens is expected to slide into the starting center job. But the "undersized center" will have an equal chance to prove himself.
